What we fund
We prioritize funding for groups and projects focused on improving the health and wellbeing of people, places and planet.

People
Enhancing social and economic wellbeing

We focus on community-based organizations that improve health and wellbeing in areas underserved by current social, education and economic systems. This includes support for young people impacted by the child welfare system, as well as innovative and tangible approaches to address homelessness and access to education.
Geographic Priority Areas: Our funding focuses on local organizations in British Columbia and Ontario.

Already operating successfully in communities across Canada, Community Land Trusts are non-profit organizations that obtain and hold land, benefiting a community for generations to come by ensuring housing stays affordable and accessible for people in greatest need.

Foundations for Social Change

Direct giving is a simple idea that is proving to be powerful and transformative for people facing homelessness. A one-time cash transfer is awarded to a person who is living in poverty and can be spent according to individual needs. Growing evidence, including from the New Leaf project, demonstrates that money from cash transfers is well spent and that it can provide stability in a person's life. The direct giving model empowers recipients to find housing and purchase goods that improve their lives, while restoring diginity, confidence and sense of well-being.

Places
Building vibrant and creative local communities

We support arts and culture initiatives that demonstrate social relevance, opportunities for people to access culture and arts programming in their communities and public space transformation.
Geographic Priority Areas: Our funding focuses on local organizations in British Columbia and Ontario.
